Many commercial and commuter airlines serve the Des Moines International Airport. Private planes use the Ames Municipal Airport. Car rental is also available at the Des Moines airport.
Parking
Parking is complimentary in weekends and outside the time window of 7am – 5:30pm on weekdays.
During 7am – 5:30pm on weekdays, metered parking is available at Lot 21 on Iowa State University Campus. Lot 21 is at the intersection of the Osborn Drive and Bissell Road, with latitude/longitude (42.02931225906169, -93.65156268149819). Additional metered parking is available in nearby parking lots too.
A Visitor Permit can also be requested beforehand, and it allow visitors to park in any General Staff and Student lot (i.e., parking lots with yellow-colored signs). Lot 22 is the closest to Durham Center, and the parking lots around Lot 27 are the most spacious and will always have parking spots available.

Bus Service
Iowa State University is served by CyRide, the city of Ames bus service. Durham Center is next to Coover Hall, and there are CyRide stops north and west of Coover Hall on Osborn Drive and Bissell Road respectively. See route map.
